Update fails when SHOWUPDATER and/or PROPERSEARCHER is running

If there is an update available and you try to manually update, would it be possible to give the option to stop the SHOWUPDATER and/or PROPERSEARCHER if either is running and force an update?

I was trying to update from 11ae327a to 4f853bf and it just kept going back to the shows page when I was trying to manually click update update on the top of the shows page (because a new update was found). It wasn't until I checked the logs that I found it was failing....
